IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are interested in bidding for these books, you need to read everything here! This is the book auction from October that was cancelled. There are still tons of books there. Apparently some more are going to go away through Thursday, but it will only put a dent into what's there now. This is upstairs from the Old Woodruff and Thush Twice Read Books bookstore on E. San Fernando St. in downtown San Jose. The books are out of the store, have been moved upstairs into the old hotel. There are about 20 rooms up there and most of them have the books you see in the photos. These photos depict each room and the two upstairs hallways. NO ROOM WAS PHOTOGRAPHED TWICE, though we took a couple shots in each hallway. There were also a few rooms with just a few books we didn't bother to shoot. Anyone who wants to attend the preview will have to sign a liability waiver before entering. EACH PERSON, whether you register to bid or actually stay for the auction. There is no electricty there, though there are skylights, and the stairs are steep. THIS IS A ONE LOT AUCTION. Removal of the books is completely the responsibility of the buyer. The person who is in charge of allowing access to the building and removal of the books will be at the preview and interested parties can discuss removal with him before bidding. The winning bidder will agree on a schedule of removal, that agreement will be in writing, and if those terms are not met by the buyer, the ownership of the remaining books will revert to the seller.
This is on E. San Fernando between 2nd St. and 3rd St. There is reasonably priced public parking.
